Information We Collect

• Registered Users: If you create an account, we use Firebase Authentication. We collect your User ID, email address, and display name (as provided by you or your Google account). This information is stored in our Firestore database to manage your account and track your tier status (Free Trial or Patreon Supporter).
• Anonymous Participants: If you join a room without an account, we use Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign you a temporary, anonymous guest ID. This ID is stored in your browser's local storage to identify you within a specific room.
• Room Data: We store all questions, replies, and likes associated with a room. This includes the text content and the display name (or "Anonymous") of the author.
• Usage Data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous data about how you interact with our service. This includes information like which pages you visit, how long you stay on them, and which features you use. This helps us understand how our service is being used so we can improve it.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain our Q&A room service.
• Manage user accounts and session state (e.g., distinguishing the host from participants).
• Enforce room creation limits based on your user tier.
• Analyze usage trends to improve our service and user experience.
• Identify your "liked" questions within a specific room.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties.

Data Storage and Deletion

Our data is stored securely in Google Firestore.

• Room Expiration: Each room has a defined duration. Upon expiration, a Time-to-Live (TTL) policy on our database automatically deletes the room and all of its associated content (questions, replies, etc.).
• Patreon Supporter Archival: For our Supporters, rooms are archived for up to 30 days before being automatically deleted by our TTL policy.
• Local Storage: We use your browser's local storage to save your guest ID, display name for a room, and a list of questions you've liked. This data is specific to your browser and is not uploaded to our servers. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.

Cookies

We use cookies for essential functionality and analytics. This includes session management through Firebase Authentication and usage tracking through Google Analytics. These cookies help us understand user behavior and improve the service. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising.
